Task farming: The Dynamo Use Case
The demo below shows
an astrophysical application where the induction equation for mean
magnetic fields in a turbulent stellar plasma is solved by the code
DYNAMO (author
Detlef Elstner,
AIP).
The large parameter space makes it necessary to perform many runs to scan the
parameter space.
The runs are submitted to different hosts across the AstroGrid-D
by Job Submission Data Language scripts (
JSDL),
and monitored using the information service
STELLARIS.
The resulting surface magnetic fields are visualized with the Interactive
Data Language (
IDL).
